Project - Lifelong Learning Centre, New Struan House, Alloa
The school which is the most advanced centre in the world for the education of children with autism, includes seven classrooms, a multi-sensory room, splash area, library, early learning centre, staff room and an area for visiting therapists.
It also houses a centre collating national research on autism, a diagnostic and assessment centre, a training centre and educational outreach support service that schools across the country can contact.
The new state-of-the-art facility, designed by architect Andrew Lester who is the father of an autistic child, had been planned for a number of years and Marshall Construction has actively supported the Scottish Society for Autism in a number of ways with fundraising towards the total £5.1 million project costs.
