The £3.5m Marchglen Nursing Home was opened for business in December 2006.
The state of the art nursing complex consists of four accommodation blocks giving a total of 36 bed rooms and a two-storey central building providing communal facilities, catering and administration facilities. The central building also provides day care for visiting clients and also includes a gym and hairdressing salon. All four accommodation blocks have facilities for the residents to prepare refreshments and snacks. However, one of the blocks comprises 6 bed sits to give the long term residents more independence whilst they still have the full support of a nursing home. Another of the accommodation blocks includes special facilities for those needing round the clock care including oxygen, resuscitation and bed lifts. Provision of these facilities was a first for both us and the client.
