Marshall Construction’s Class of 2016……

September 14, 2016

Marshall Construction is committed to apprenticeships as an important way of bringing a diverse range of talented people into the company and the construction industry.  Marshall Construction apprentices are an excellent example of the value and positive impact Modern Apprentices can have in tackling youth unemployment and providing a talented and skilled workforce for the industry’s future. We have consistently shown our commitment to nurturing emerging talent year after year, we are big on developing skilled people and it really helps to have enthusiastic and capable apprentices who are willing to learn.  Apprentices play an important role in our economy and it’s good to see work is already underway with the next generation.  Marshall Construction aims to take-on and employ new apprentices every year, in 2016 we have taken on 7 new apprentices taking the number employed by the company to 14, which represents 5% of our workforce.

  • Dean Burden – Civil Engineering
  • Liam Murphy – Plumbing
  • Josh Carrol – Painter & Decorator
  • Aiden Wilkinson – Plastering
  • Lewis Talbot – Brickwork
  • Cameron Reid – Joiner
  • Aaron Honeyman – Joiner

Robert Marshall, Managing Director commented: Marshall Construction’s Apprenticeship Programme is very close to my heart as I believe that construction is a fantastic career choice for young people today.  If you do well in construction and gain a trade the scope is endless.  Historically we find that our apprentices are keen, highly motivated people who want to learn and help our business to grow.   Some of our previous apprentices have left and started their own businesses, which sets them up for life. Most of our managers are self-generated too so we look after staff we have trained to our own standards. As a privately-owned business we can recognise and reward talent and ensure that it is nurtured so people can progress as far as they are able or aspire to”
