Alyth Primary School

This current project consists of an extension and internal alterations to an occupied and fully operational “B” listed Victorian primary school. The works were programmed in conjunction with the client to ensure the best use of the school holiday periods to minimise disruption to the normal functioning of the school. An existing 1960s extension received a minor refurbishment to provide a decant facility to allow the Victorian building to be vacated to allow for the building works.
The new extension is steel framed with a variety of external wall finishes including facing brick, sprayed render, and larch panelling. Extensive works were done in the Victorian building including asbestos removal and the creation of a link corridor to the new extension.
On the conclusion of the main building works, the life expired 1960s building will be demolished.
